On the 20th September 2020, in the presence of HE Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz Al-Shehhi; Chairman of the Board of Directors, the contract of agreement to implement the continuous basalt fiber & rebar production project has been signed by and between Arab Mining Company - Fujairah and the UK based company BTUK-ME.
This project is considered the only one of its kind in the MENA region. It is classified as one of the projects with an innovative and transformative impact on the mining sector and a high value-added impact. The project's products are characterized by its advanced chemical and physical properties and specifications by which qualify them for usage in several industrial sectors around the world notably the chemical, metallurgical, construction, aircraft, car & ship, oil & gas industries, and Fire-retardant fabrics and textiles production.
The project aims to establish a factory to produce basalt fiber and rebar in the area, so-called "Al-Hail" in the Emirate of Fujairah with an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons by using the gabbro and basalt rocks found within the Emirate of Al Fujairah.
With God willing, and according to the project's schedule, the factory's establishment will be completed, and the commercial production shall start at the end of September 2022.
