At the beginning of the visit, His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Shehhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Mining Company, welcomed Her Excellency Eng. Hala Zawati, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and her accompanying delegation at the Arab Mining Company. His Excellency, the Chairman of the Board of Directors described this visit as an important step to strengthen the company's relationship with the Jordanian mining sector.
Where the Chairman of the Board of Directors gave a brief about the company, its investments, and future aspirations towards the mining sector in the Kingdom and the company's orientation towards research and development, as well as training in the mining sector.
His Excellency Eng. Mohammed Al-Shehhi praised the political and economic stability experienced by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which had a positive impact on the investment climate in the Kingdom, praising the support that the company gains from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, stressing the company's readiness to study all investment opportunities and potential cooperation available in the Kingdom and various horizons, in which attains benefits for both parties.
In turn, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Eng. Hala Zawati, praised the importance of the role played by the Arab Mining Company in promoting mining investments in the Kingdom and the Arab world and its orientation to make Jordan a regional center for research and training in the mining sector.
Her Excellency said during the visit, that the company's investments in the Kingdom are evidence of the importance of the mining opportunities available in Jordan and their economic feasibility, urging the company to take advantage of the investment opportunities in the field of mining offered by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources during the year 2020.
Her Excellency added that the ministry is interested in the company's orientation towards research and development in the mining sector, noting that the ministry has information about the sector and its various elements, which the company can benefit from in the field of research and development.
Her Excellency affirmed the ministry's support for the company's orientation towards training in the sector and making Jordan a regional center for training in the mining sector.
Her Excellency expressed the ministry's readiness to provide the necessary facilities and cooperate with the company to facilitate its work and enhance its activities to serve its investments, the interests of investors and the Jordanian national interests.
Her Excellency, Eng. Hala Zawati added that the mining sector in the Kingdom constitutes about 20% of Jordan's exports and about 7.7% of the gross domestic product, stressing the ministry's interest in cooperating with the Arab Mining Company and its willingness to discuss areas of cooperation that would facilitate the company's work and provide the Jordanian economy with added value.
