Gulf Stone Company was established in 1999 by a group of leading institutions and businessmen from the Sultanate of Oman and Arab Gulf states. With a ratio of 25% a contribution was made into the Gulf Stone Company in 2004.
The Company started with an authorized capital of 4 million Omani Riyals, 2 millions were subscribed and paid-up with a nominal value of one Omani Riyal per share.
Whereas, in 2009, Gulf Stone decided to stock split one share into ten, where the nominal share value of shares changed to 100 Omani Baisa instead of one Omani Riyal.
It is worth noting that from 2007 until 2011, the Company distributed the shareholders profit in the form of bonus shares; where the total of the shares distributed reached 16.3 million shares out of which the Arab Mining Company’s shares reached 4.075 million shares. The Company’s capital is now worth 3.630 million Omani Riyals distributed over 36.3 million shares, were the nominal share value of 100 Omani Baisa per share.
The Company manufactures a complete line of products to produce and market engineered Quartz tiles in different thickness, colors and modalities. The Company is fully equipped with the latest technology and machineries which are originated from Breton Italian Company. Production processes rely on quartz ore blocks, after which the pure kinds are selected and crushed in the appropriate right size to produce slabs which have been treated geometrically.
A ratio of 92% - 94% of Quartz is mixed of with a mixture of chemical resin and shaken well using vibration mixer machines, and as result of this complex process, compressed stone slabs and surfaces are made, which are polished and converted to the required sizes and shapes based on customers and markets specifications. The entire process is followed through and monitored using computers to ensure it adheres to the highest quality and durability standards.
The Company’s products are used in several areas including: interior floors, cladding interior walls, table tops, kitchen surfaces, toilets, laboratory tables, drawers, stairs, and swimming pools.
