Although the Company was founded in 1971, it began its commercial production in 1976. Located in Tunis, Industries Chimiques du Fluor is recognized as one of the largest international companies in fluoride aluminum production with a production capacity of 42,000 tons a year, exporting its production to most aluminum smelters around the world. Moreover, the Company also produces Anhydrite with a production capacity of 100,000 tons a year, where it is consumed by local cement plants while the rest is exported abroad.

 

In 1979, with a total capital of 3 million Tunisian dinars when it first launched, an investment, paid in full, was made in the Company worth (0.8) million Tunisian Dinars (equals to 554 thousand Kuwaiti Dinars). After capitalizing part of its reserves in 1993, the company’s capital reached (9) million Tunisian dinars, thus increasing the company's contribution value to (2.4) million Tunisian dinars. In 2011, based on the Shareholders’ Extraordinary General Assembly’s decision for the company's shareholders, the Company increased its capital to (21) million Tunisian dinars through the issuance of 1.2 million shares with nominal value of (10) dinars Tunisian per share. This increase was subscribed at the same ratio as the company’s contribution.

The annual raw materials needs for the production of Aluminum Fluoride:

  • Approximately 75,000 tons/square fluorspar (calcium fluoride (CaF2) Acid grade
  • Approximately 42,000 tons/square Hydrated Alumina
  • Approximately 55,000 tons/square Sulphuric Acid
  • About 20,000 tons/square Oleum
