Mining Advisory Committee discusses the organization's work program
His Excellency Eng. Adel Al-Saqr, General Manager of the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining, during his opening of the 23rd meeting, which is held with the participation of the agents of the ministries of mining in the Arab countries and the Arab Mining Company, affirmed the organization’s keenness to develop and enhance its contribution to the development of the Arab mining sector by consulting with the members of the advisory committee. He praised the cooperation of the concerned Arab authorities with the organization in implementing its activities and programs in the mining sector.
In his speech, Al-Saqr reviewed the organization's activities during the last period through the implementation of the 14th International Arab Conference on Mineral Resources and the accompanying exhibition under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Jeddah, November 2016.
His Excellency thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the King, government and people for the good efforts and the outstanding success of the conference activities and their hospitality for all participants.
Al-Saqr reviewed the organization’s work program, which included the geological and mineral gateway project for Arab countries, where he recommended their Excellencies, the Mining Ministers in Arab countries during their consultative meeting in Jeddah in November 2016 to support the project financially and technically.
In the conclusion of his speech, the Director General of the Organization praised the efforts made by the members of the Mining Advisory Committee and its constant keenness to provide support, coordination and Arab integration for the development of the mineral wealth sector.
Moreover, the meeting discussed number of items, including the follow-up on the implementation of the recommendations of the previous meeting of the advisory committee, the recommendations of the consultative consensus and the results of the recommendations of the 14th conference on mineral wealth and its accompanying exhibition, which was held in Jeddah 22-24 November 2016. Also, the formation of the Preparatory Committee for the 15th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources and the accompanying exhibition which will be hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt during the second half of 2018.
